Bengal recorded their highest ever run-chase to beat Maharashtra by 4 wickets and one ball to spare in the fourth quarter-final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2017 at the Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi. Everybody in the Bengal line-up contributed well to the win, right from the top. Opener Shreevats Goswami scored a magnificent 74 off 88 deliveries. But it was the contributions of Sudip Chatterjee 60* (51) and Anustup Majumdar’s 66 off 59, which eventually took Bengal over the line. They put on 117 for the fifth wicket, which gave Bengal the much needed momentum. Agniv Pan on List A debut and skipper Manoj Tiwary chipped in with 47 and 40 respectively. Shrikant Mundhe, Shamshuzama Kazi and Kedar Jadhav picked up two wickets apiece to keep Maharashtra in the hunt, but failed.
