Bollywood actor Vindoo Dara Singh, who was arrested by the Mumbai Police in connection with betting during the sixth edition of the Indian Premier League, revealed to investigators on Thursday that he was in touch with three players from the Chennai Super Kings, with one of them being a senior player.
According to a report on Hindustan Times, Himanshu Roy, Joint Commissioner of Police (crime), said, “Yes, he has dropped some names, we are verifying the authenticity of his claims.” Roy, however, refused to disclose the names.
Sources also said the police might question the named players once they have enough proof to substantiate Vindoo’s claims.
The small-time Bollywood actor was arrested by the Mumbai Police on Tuesday for betting and his alleged links with the bookies. Interrogation has led the scandal to the Chennai Super Kings after the actor said he was placing bets for Gurunath Meiyappan, the son-in-law of N Srinivasan who is the President of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) . Meiyappan is also the CEO and Team Principal of the Chennai Super Kings.
