Vinoo Mankad’s son Atul no more

Former Ranji cricketer Atul Mankad, one of the three sons of legendary all-rounder Vinoo Mankad, passed away at a civic hospital on Monday.

Atul played three first class matches for Saurashtra

 

Mumbai: May 9, 2011

 

Former Ranji cricketer Atul Mankad, one of the three sons of legendary all-rounder Vinoo Mankad, passed away at a civic hospital here yesterday.

 

He was 62.

 

Atul died after a brief illness, according to sources.

 

Atul, younger brother of late Indian cricketer Ashok Mankad, played three first class matches for Saurashtra and scored 38 runs in five innings.

 

He also represented the then Bombay University in the Rohington Baria trophy.

 

Atul’s another brother Rahul, who represented Mumbai, is currently based in Australia.
