India batter Virat Kohli raised concerns about West Indies skipper Kraigg Brathwaite’s bowling action, alleging him of chucking during Day 2 of the first Test. Kohli came to bat after the fall of Shubman Gill’s wicket and added 72 runs for the third wicket with Yashasvi Jaiswal to sail India through to 312-2 at stumps.
Resuming Day 2 at 80-0, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma made Windies bowlers toil hard and added 229 runs for the first wicket before Rohit Sharma was out for 103. Shubman Gill also was dismissed cheaply for 6.
Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal then took India to the stumps without any more dents. Virat Kohli was up against Kraigg Braithwaite and was taken by surprise by one of the deliveries where he felt that the Windies skipper was chucking. Kohli was caught on stump mic shouting ‘batta phek rha hai’.
The day belonged to Jaiswal, who scored his maiden century in his debut Test and remained not out on 143 while Virat Kohli stayed unbeaten at 36. India are already 162 runs ahead of West Indies, who were bowled out for a mere 150 in the first innings.
Is Kraigg Brathwaite's action legal? 🤔🤔 Virat Kohli on stump mic was heard telling Jaiswal "Bhatta phenk raha hai…"

Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal was delighted after scoring his maiden century and thanked Rohit Sharma and team management for their support.
“I think this is one of the emotional knock for me, it’s difficult to get opportunities in the Indian team, I would like to thank everyone, the supporters, team management and Rohit Bhai. The pitch is on the slower side and the outfield is very slow, it was difficult and challenging, it was pretty hot and I wanted to keep doing it for my country, just play ball-by-ball and enjoy my cricket.

I love Test cricket, I like this challenge, I enjoy the situation when the ball swings and seams. We have worked hard on everything, I’ve just gone out to express myself. Was an emotional moment (on his century), was just proud of myself, thankful for everyone, this is just a start and I want to do well going further.”
