The wedding of the year that was awaited by the world is confirmed. After all the hype, anticipation and speculation the much-talked about couple Virat Kohli–Anushka Sharma tied the knot and said ‘I do‘ in Italy on Monday morning. The couple, their family and close friends had left for Milan on Thursday night.
The couple’s wedding took place at Borgo Finocchieto in Tuscany. It was very hush-hush affair. As per reports, the resort was all dolled up with heavy security in place. Considering it was a typical Punjabi wedding, professional Bhangra dancers were seen playing the Nagada in full swing.
A grand reception is set to be hosted in Mumbai on December 26. With remaining Indian players busy with ODI and T20I series, the reception is expected to see the entire Indian team in the grand event. The wedding was expected to be attended by Bollywood’s Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and cricketers Yuvraj Singh, Sachin Tendulkar.
Soon after the wedding and reception, Kohli will head to South Africa for a long tour beginning from January 5. Anushka is expected to join Kohli on the tour.
The duo started seeing each other since they appeared for a shampoo commercial in 2013. In 2016 their relationship hit rock bottom. But the ‘it couple’ reconciled and have been going strong since.
They have made sporadic appearances in award functions and public events. They were recently seen together attending cricketer Zaheer Khan and actress Sagarika Ghatge’s wedding. They even attended Indian Sports Honours event together.
