Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has reportedly congratulated Indian cricketer Virat Kohli for his splendid performance with the bat in the first Test against Australia, which ended in Adelaide last week with the Indians losing the thriller by 48 runs.

Kohli smashed two centuries in the game to become the only captain in cricket history after Greg Chappell to achieve the feat while making Test captaincy debut.

A source close to the actor told Hindustan Times, “He [Aamir Khan] has been busy with a hectic nine-day tour for his upcoming film, but has been keeping a close watch on the ongoing series between India and Australia. Even though Australia won the first Test match, the Indian team gave it a good shot and Virat performed very well in both the innings.”

The source added, “Aamir found that commendable and decided to message Virat about his innings. In his message, Aamir expressed how he had been following the match and was impressed with Virat’s performance.”

India will take Australia in the second Test at Brisbane, which begins on December 17 at The Gabba.
