Kohli has been aptly rewarded for his success in 2016 as Forbes India has featured him on the cover page of its latest edition.

Virat Kohli s dream run in the year 2016 does not seem to end. Or in other words, after having a prolific-run with the bat in the year across formats, Kohli has been aptly rewarded for his success. Fortnightly magazine Forbes India, which is the Indian edition of Forbes, world s leading magazine that covers all the contemporary issues and comes out biweekly, featured Kohli on the cover page of its latest, special edition. Kohli finds a place on the home page by the virtue of being named in Forbes India Celebrity 100 List for the year 2016. The Indian Test captain has been named on the third spot in the list of 100 celebrities. He is also the top-ranked on the list amongst Indian cricketers.

Only recently Kohi was named the ICC One-Day International (ODI) skipper of the year. In this particular list, which is prestigious in its own right, Kohli has managed to find the third spot, just below Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan who sit comfortably at the top. Forbes considers two factors while short listing the names on the list, i.e. estimates of entertainment-related earnings and estimates of fame. The time span for the consideration of the above mentioned factors was from October 1, 2015 to September 20, 2016.

Apart from Kohli, Team India s limited-overs skipper MS Dhoni (5th rank) and Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar (10th rank) have also managed to enter the top 10 in the coveted list. Kohli was highest run-scorer across formats in international cricket in the year 2016; a fact that helped him bag the third spot. Besides, his link-up with Bollywood starlet Anushka Sharma also kept him in the news. Off the field, brand Kohli soared to new heights. All this helped him find a higher place in the Forbes India Celebrity 100 List.
