Virat Kohli, India‘s star batsman came together with music maestro AR Rahman for composing the official anthem of Premier Futsal League. Kohli, who met the legendary musical genius, tweeted a picture of him with Rahman through his official Twitter handle. Kohli said in his tweet that he feels privileged to have met Rahman, and having received the opportunity to spend some time with him. He called Rahman a ‘genius’ and added that he is a classic example of ‘humility’. He finally thanked Rahman calling him ‘Sir’. Rahman is widely considered one of the finest music directors of this generation and arguably the best India has ever produced since independence. Kohli is a cricket giant, and perhaps the most complete batter in international cricket along with AB de Villiers. Thus, it was a meeting of two geniuses of their respective fields. Kohli, who is the league ambassador of Premier Futsal, had said earlier that he is a die hard fan of Rahman, “I have been a fan of A.R Rahman for years. It will be a personal achievement and also a privilege to share the screen with him and lend my voice to the anthem of Premier Futsal.” This high decibel marketing initiative from Premier Futsal, promoted by Xavier Britto of Indev Group, was aimed at creating awareness for the sport of Futsal and promoting the league ahead of its launch on July 15. “Our investor, Xavier Britto, has backed our vision and plans since the inception of this project. We are committed to leave no-stone unturned in our efforts to make Premier Futsal a big success. In line with this commitment, we are delighted to have partnered with the Mozart of Madras, Mr. Rahman, for our official anthem. It’s a very proud day for us. With our league ambassador Virat Kohli also featuring in the video, it could not be any better for us,” Dinesh Raj, Managing Director of Premier Futsal had said. The anthem, titled “Naam hai Futsal”, will be released with a video featuring Virat Kohli. The video will be released in the week of June 20th exclusively via Premier Futsal’s digital platforms. The concept and production of the anthem have been done by DDB Mudra. AR Rahman’s association with Premier Futsal adds further gloss to the league, which already boasts Portugal football legend and former World Player of the Year Luis Figo as President.
