Virat Kohli repeated the iconic shot from 2022 WC.
Former India captain Virat Kohli attempted to repeat the famous six he hit against Pakistan against Haris Rauf at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia during the T20 World Cup in 2022. In the ongoing 2nd T20I encounter against Afghanistan on Sunday at Holkar Stadium in Indore, Kohli attempted to smash a six similar to that one more time.
Kohli tried to play the same shot in the fouth over while Naveen-Ul-Haq was bowling the third ball of the over. The video of Kohli is has gone viral on social media and here is the clip:
After making 29 runs in 16 balls, Kohli was removed from the game. This was his first appearance since India’s 2022 T20 World Cup defeat. The Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, was unable to open his account because he was out of luck.
Earlier in the second Twenty20 International, Afghanistan defeated India by 172 all out thanks to a barrage of fours and sixes by the lower-order batsmen. Gulbadin Naib had opened the scoring with a brisk 35 balls.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman (21 off 9 balls) and Karim Janat (20 off 10) chipped in with helpful efforts to prop up the batting.
Afghanistan’s opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who was asked to bat first, immediately indicated what he intended to accomplish. He flicked Arshdeep Singh (3/32 in 4 overs) for a four through square leg and then attempted to knock one straight down the ground, but it did not result in a boundary.
