India‘s skipper, Virat Kohli, has lost on his coveted spot in ICC T20I rankings for batsmen. The No. 2 batter missed out on the limited-overs leg versus Sri Lanka due to his marriage, and conceded the position to Australia’s Aaron Finch. Interestingly, Virat Kohli now holds first spot in ODIs, second in Tests and third in T20Is. On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah remains India’s only pacer to feature in the top fifteen. He, however, lost the numero uno position to Pakistan’s Imad Wasim. Bumrah is now holding the third spot for remaining wicketless in the just-concluded T20Is versus Sri Lanka.
Indian openers, from three T20Is versus the Lankans, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma also surged ahead in the ladder. Rahul — on the back of consecutive fifties — has now taken the No. 4 spot. He, thereby, climbed 23 slots to reach a career-best ranking. Rohit, the stand-in skipper for Kohli, scored the joint-fastest T20I century in the penultimate match of the series. Thus, he has now attained the 14th position.
Rashid Khan holds the second spot in bowlers’ chart. Bumrah, at No. 3, is closely followed by Samuel Badree and Imran Tahir. Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav take the 16th and 64th spot respectively.
In teams’ standings, Pakistan lead while India, New Zealand and West Indies occupy the second, third and fourth spot respectively.
