Virat Kohli meets WWE Superstar Great Khali after India’s thumping win over Sri Lanka in Colombo Test

India have been knocking over opponents in Test series one after the other under Virat Kohli’s guidance. Newest entrant in the list are Sri Lanka, who were handed a thumping defeat by an innings and 53 runs on Sunday in the Colombo Test. India now lead the 3-Test series 2-0, and now have won eight consecutive series under Kohli. To commemorate this great win, Kohli met the former WWE superstar ‘The Great Khali’, who was in town. Kohli greeted the former world heavyweight champion in hotel lobby and seemed awestruck.

Dalip Singh Rana, better known as Khali to fans all around the world, is famous for his stint with US-based wrestling organisation WWE. Kohli took to Twitter to share his meeting with Khali. Recently, WWE and IPL-based Mumbai Indians have been engaging in pleasantries on Twitter. MI send their jersey to WWE’s current champion Jinder Mahal, also an Indian-origin wrestler. In return, WWE COO Triple H sent a championship belt with MI engraved on it to franchise skipper Rohit Sharma.


Mahal, also known as The Modern Day Maharaja, in a video to MI said, “Hello India, this is your WWE champion Jinder Mahal and I want to send a big thank you to the Mumbai Indians for sending me this custom jersey with my name on it. And I will wear it with pride.” The Modern day Maharaja signed off by chanting the slogan of the Paltans, “Cricket Meri Jaan” which translates to “Cricket is my life.”
