India’s star batter Virat Kohli is on the verge of creating history. Kohli is the leading run-scorer in the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025, and even has a chance to break the all-time record held by West Indies legend Chris Gayle. The former Caribbean opener has the record for the highest runs in the history of Champions Trophy, and Kohli is coming close to that record.

Chris has 791 runs from 17 innings. He has an average of 52.73 and a strike rate of 88.77. Kohli has 746 from 16 innings, averaging at 82.88. The Indian batting star needs 46 more runs in the final clash against New Zealand to reach the top spot.

Virat Kohli is also on the fourth in the list of the leading run-scorers in the ongoing tournament. He has 217 runs scored in four innings. The top spot is held by England opener Ben Duckett with 227 runs in three innings.
