AB de Villiers pulled off a shocker on Wednesday when he announced his retirement from international cricket. De Villiers, one of the greatest batsmen to play the game, posted a video to convey the same to the fans and cricket fraternity. Virat Kohli shares an excellent camaraderie with the South African great and for years they have played for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise in the IPL.

Kohli addressed his fellow teammate as “brother” and wished him a good luck in the future. Kohli posted a picture of the duo and wrote, “Wish you all the best in everything that you do my brother. You’ve changed the way batting was seen in the time you’ve played international cricket. My best wishes to you and your family for this amazing journey ahead @ABdeVilliers17”

AB was one of the standout performers for RCB this season as well but could not help RCB to the IPL 2018 Playoffs. The team finished sixth in the points table. Kohli has time and again stated that he rated the 34-year-old the best batsman in the world.
