Virat Kohli re-enters top 5, Shubman Gill remains at the top in latest ICC ODI Rankings

The India star batter scored a fantastic century against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy and moved up to the fifth position in the ODI batter rankings

India batter Shubman Gill consolidated his place at the top of the ICC ODI batter Rankings after playing a big role in his team’s qualification for the semifinals of the Champions Trophy. Gill scored a fantastic unbeaten century in India’s Champions Trophy opener against Bangladesh and followed that up with a decent knock of 46 against arch-rivals Pakistan.

These 2 knocks saw Gill gain 21 rating points and his total moved up to 817. He increased the gap from second-placed Babar Azam from 23 points to 47 points.

On the other hand, Kohli’s unbeaten century against Pakistan saw him re-enter top 5 in the rankings, overtaking New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell while India skipper Rohit Sharma remained at the number 3 spot.

Elsewhere, New Zealand’s Will Young and Rachin Ravindra moved up to the 14th and 24th position respectively while England’s Ben Duckett moved up to the 17th spot.

Australia duo of Alex Carey and Josh Inglis moved up to the 50th and 81st position respectively in the batter rankings while Bangladesh’s Towhid Hridoy and Jaker Ali advanced to the 64th and 94th position respectively.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka spinner Maheesh Theekshana maintained his position at the top of the ODI bowler rankings with Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan remaining at the second place. New Zealand’s Matt Henry and Michael Bracewell advanced to the sixth and 26th spot respectively while Australia’s Adam Zampa moved up to the 10th position.
