However, England remains unconquered for him. He has managed 134 runs from 5 Test matches at a dismal 13.40. With the England tour coming up in August, Kohli has decided to make the most of the opportunity by taking up county stint. Yes, the Indian skipper will be playing for Surrey soon after IPL in June. Which means, Kohli would skip playing host to Afghanistan for their maiden Test in June. Surrey have played hosts to cricketers like Kumar Sangakkara, Kevin Pietersen; and Kohli will become first Indian to join their ranks.

Cheteshwar Pujara, too, will turn up for Yorkshire around the same time. In fact, Yorkshire would be locking horns with Surrey in June. One could find Kohli and Pujara clashing with each other before teaming up against England in August. As reported by The Times of India (TOI), Surrey is scheduled to play three four-day matches between June 9 and 28 against Hampshire, Somerset and Yorkshire which Kohli is likely to make himself available for. Ishant Sharma, too, would be seen playing county cricket for Sussex throughout County Championship.

India would be playing five Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is in England August onwards. Prior to that, India will be hosting Afghanistan for their maiden Test at Bengaluru on June 14.
