Indian batsman Virat Kohli will soo have the company of his girlfriend and actress Anushka Sharma during the third India-Australia Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) starting Friday. The actress, who is currently celebrating the success of a recently released film of hers, is scheduled to fly to Melbourne for the third Test and will be cheering for her beau from the stands. She will also spend the New Year with her boyfriend, according to a report by NDTV Sports.

The news would be a rather pleasant one for Kohli, who has been in the news all this week for the wrong reasons. Not only is India trailing Australia 0-2 in the four-Test series, but the star batsman was reported to have been involved in a standoff with team-mate Shikhar Dhawan on the fourth day of the second Test. India went on to lose that Test by four wickets.

Anushka, who has been in an open relationship with Kohli for quite some time now, may face restrictions though when it comes to getting time to spend with her boyfriend. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had recently lifted the ban on wives accompanying their cricketer husbands during international tours, though girlfriends were still a no-no as far as the new ruling by the Indian cricket administrators were concerned.

Kohli was criticised for spending too much time with Sharma during the disastrous tour of England earlier in the year, in which the batsman had a rather poor run with the bat.
