Virender Sehwag, former India batsman who recently retired from international cricket said in a mega cricket event— Salaam Cricket which is being aired on Aaj Tak that when he used to go to Pakistan as a player he remained a little wary that his comments could lead him into trouble. He added that he now expresses his views more openly. He also said that Pakistan team howsoever strong it has ever been, it has never been able to beat India in a World Cup match. Sehwag is known to put forth his point of view far more openly compared to many other cricketers, be it his or team’s strengths and weaknesses. Virender Sehwag added MS Dhoni’s decision of batting at No. 4 in Asia Cup 2016 final against Bangladesh was fine. Sehwag said Dhoni shuffles the batting order as per the situation. He also said Dhoni has that inherent ability to assess the circumstances on the cricket field. He said the contribution of youngsters was a major reason for India’s victory in Asia Cup 2016. Sehwag believes Dhoni still has three or four years of cricket left in him. Sehwag said he never had any issues with Dhoni and it was the media which cooked up all kinds of stories. He added media was responsible for creating a rift between him and Dhoni. Sehwag said Dhoni and other team players have a good relationship. The 37-year-old said that players who perform are supported and the Indian captain never had personal issues with any cricketer.
