Virender Sehwag‘s coach AN Sharma Thursday said the Delhi batsman is not an ordinary player and hoped his ward would make a strong comeback to reclaim his place in the Test side.
“Sehwag is not an ordinary player. I am sure he will bounce back in style. He is a champion and a true match winner,” said Sharma.
Sehwag was dropped for the remaining two Tests against England in Mohali and Delhi after his unimpressive show in Tests during the last three years.
Sharma doesn’t blame the selectors for dropping Sehwag but expected them to give him another chance.
“I don’t blame the selectors but I felt he should have got another chance,” he said.
Sharma believes that Sehwag won’t give up easily.
“He is a fighter to the core. Knowing him since long I strongly believe that he won’t give it up easily and will come back with a fight,” he said.
During the tour of Australia in 2011, Sehwag managed 198 runs in eight innings. Sehwag’s first Test century in two years came against England in Ahmedabad in November and since then he had scored at an average of 18.11. In the ongoing Test series against Australia he has scored just 27 runs in three innings.
