Virender Sehwag lives by his own rules. That is how he played cricket and that is how he tweets or opines on television these days. Last month, when BCCI started hunting for a new coach, Sehwag sent a two-line CV. Of course, BCCI rejected it and asked him to send a new one. A few called it swag. A few called it arrogance. That, or anything, does not bother Sehwag. He sticks to his thumb rule (if there is any at all). Anil Kumble’s absence has left a void, but the Indian team is gradually moving on from the fact that Kumble and captain Virat Kohli has internal tussles. However, India still are without a coach.
Deccan Chronicle’s Bipin Dani quoted a source saying: “Currently, no other candidate is the frontrunner but one never knows. We still have a few days more to receive the applications. Yes, Viru is outspoken on social media. But then, if he is appointed, he would be instructed to keep his mouth shut. Our fear is that he would just say, ‘so what?’, if India loses a match or a series. That would surely ruffle the feathers of important people.”
Kumble had requested BCCI to let India participate in ICC Champions Trophy when the board was involved in a disagreement with ICC. A few days later, a source was quoted saying that it was not Kumble’s decision to take and that he should focus on his job instead.

If this news is to be believed, it does not come as a surprise if Sehwag is asked to mellow down.
