VVS Laxman is all set for a new innings in the commentary box, as he is expected to join his former Team India colleagues Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid in the commentators’ panel for the Test series against Australia, scheduled early next year.
Laxman is currently busy playing for his home side Hyderabad in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2012, due to which he had to turn down the offer of commentary for the Test series against England, The Hindu reported.
The stylish cricketer, who announced retirement from international cricket before the start of the Test series against New Zealand, received a similar offer for commentary stint in the ICC World T20 2012 as well.
Australia will tour India for a four-match Test series in February-March next year.
The Test matches will be played at Kanpur, Chennai, Delhi and Mohali, the BCCI CAO Prof Ratnakar Shetty informed a few days ago.
The detailed itinerary of Australia’s visit, expected to commence after they conclude their home international season on February 13 with a one-off T20 game against the West Indies, is yet to be announced by the BCCI.
