Former Test cricketer VVS Laxman will inaugurate the Andhra Cricket Academy at Mangalagiri near near Vijayawada on Tuesday.
The academy not only aims at producing highly talented cricketers for the national team but also focus on the personality development of players who get selected to stay in the new facility, Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) President G Ganga Raju told reporters here.
Laxman has declared Rs 1 lakh cash award for teenager Ricky Bhui, who plays for Andhra Pradesh and has been selected for India U-19 team’s tour to Australia, he said.
Arun Kumar, Joint Secretary, ACA said this is first of its kind academy under Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) where the administration will horn playing skills of a budding cricketer and also take care of his education.

ACA will provide free education to the residential players, he said.
