Spin legend Shane Warne’ bronze statue is likely to be unveiled on this year’s Boxing Day Test between India and Australia at the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Warne met Louis Laumen, the MCG’s sculptor on Monday for his measurement sitting. “Just finished measurement sitting for my statue at the mighty MCG,” Warne wrote on Twitter.

“Feel very privileged and honoured to join so many amazing and wonderful sportsmen in the way of a statue at the mcg — thankyou — humbled!” he added.

Warne has joined the likes of Sir Donald Bradman, Dennis Lillee, Keith Miller and Bill Ponsford along with other Australian sportspersons who will have their statue at MCG, reports said.
