New York: Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube conceded that New York’s drop-in pitches have left him bamboozled to such an extent that it almost felt like playing a Ranji Trophy game. The Chennai Super Kings star finally regained some form with a knock of 31 against a fighting USA side in the T20 World Cup.
His 72-run stand with Suryakumar Yadav proved to be crucial in India’s 7-wicket victory over USA which saw them qualify for the Super 8 on Wednesday.
Here is what Dube had to say about his new approach while batting at the Nassau County International stadium and about all the support that he got from the coaches and support staff.

“I was struggling with my form and focusing on my process. But here, there was no pressure. All the support staff and coaches backed me and told me, ‘It’s difficult, but you have the ability to hit sixes, so apply it.’ “I’ve never doubted myself for what I’ve done in the past. I just think that these conditions do not demand what I’ve done at CSK. These conditions require a different approach, so I was batting differently today,” he added.
