Punjab Kings (PBKS) all-rounder Marcus Stoinis showcased his power with the bat in the clash against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Saturday. Stoinis decimated veteran pacer Mohammed Shami in the final over and guided the Punjab-based franchise to a humongous total of 245/6 in 20 overs.
Stoinis was demoted in the batting order by the Ricky Ponting-led team management after appearing in the middle-order in the first few matches.
He came out to bat at the number 7 spot and played an impactful knock to take his side to their second-highest highest total in IPL history. Stoinis’ knock of 34 runs from just 11 deliveries saw him hit 4 consecutive sixes to Shami.

In the 20th over of the innings, Stoinis took Shami to the cleaners and hit four back-to-back sixes as the veteran ended up conceding 75 runs in his 4-over spell.
This was the worst-ever spell by an Indian in the history of IPL and, overall, the second-worst behind Jofra Archer’s spell of 0/76. Not only this, Shami also recorded the second-worst bowling figures ever by an Indian in T20 cricket.
