Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opening batter Abhishek Sharma entered his name in the history books on Saturday by scoring one of the fastest centuries by an Indian in the IPL and the second-fastest by a SRH player.
The left-handed batter, who was retained by the Hyderabad-based franchise for INR 14 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 season, played an incredible knock of 141 as SRH completed a record-breaking run-chase of 246 to convincingly beat the Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 8 wickets.
After scoring his maiden century in the IPL, Abhishek came up with an epic paper-chit celebration, the video of which is now making rounds on social media. The chit contained the words, ‘this one is for Orange Army’. For the unversed, the ‘Orange Army’ is the name of the Hyderabad-based franchise’s fandom.
