Watch coach Darren Lehmann showing Australian players how to face spin bowling

It is evident that non-Asian batsman have struggled in the subcontinent especially when it comes to facing spin bowling. One such struggle was witnessed in the recently concluded Test series between Sri Lanka and Australia, where the visiting side were whitewashed 0-3 and the main reason was there poor batting against spin bowling.

Darren Lehmann, coach of current Australian cricket team, was good player of spin. The 46-year-old was seen practicing batting at the nets. He was probably trying to make his players understand on how to play spin in Sri Lankan condition. During his playing days, Lehmann averaged 50.53 in the subcontinent, from the eight Tests he played there. The sides included quality spin bowlers like Muttiah Muralitharan, Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble, which speaks about his understanding with spin bowling while facing in turning tracks.

In this practice session, ahead of the first One-Day International (ODI) between Australia and Sri Lanka, Lehmann was smashing the ball pretty easily but in the end Khawaja had the last laugh as he clean bowled his coach.
