The India vs Bangladesh, ICC Champions Trophy 2017 semi-final is currently underway at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Yuvraj Singh, a part of India’s playing XI, is featuring in his 300th One-Day International (ODI). In doing so, he has become only the fifth Indian player to get to the landmark after Sachin Tendulkar (463), Rahul Dravid (344), Mohammad Azharuddin (334) and Sourav Ganguly (311). Wishes have been pouring in for him from all quarters, with current and former cricketers wishing him for the achievement. At the same time, the Indian team also organised a small presentation for him before the start of the match.
Interestingly, Yuvraj had started his career in 2000 in the same tournament (then known as ICC Knockout) against Kenya but did not get a chance to bat. He then before hammered a match-winning 84 against World Champions Australia in his second match and first innings in international cricket. Coming back to the semi-final, a memento was presented to Yuvraj by Ganguly before the start of the match. It was under Ganguly that Yuvraj had made his ODI debut. Check out the video of the short ceremony here:
