During the eliminator clash between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Mumbai Indians (MI), the fans got to witness an incident that is rarely seen on the field. This incident turned out to be a good news for MI, but was a misfortune for GT. Kusal Mendis actually walked his own dismissal, as he hit his own wicket.

This incident happened during the seventh over of GT’s innings, where Mitchell Santner was bowling. Kusal Mendis was playing his first match for the team and was at strike for the second ball of the over, but got dismissed by himself as he hit his own wicket.
What actually happened was, Kusal’s back leg stretched a bit too back which eventually lit up the stumps. This left everyone shocked.

Kusal went on his back foot and tried a pull shot, but what seemed like his foot not getting enough traction on the ground, his foot eventually slipped more than he wished for, and hit the stump with his right leg. No one could have even thought about Mendis making such a mistake during this suck an important match.
