Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni produced an incredible run-out in his side’s clash against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Monday. The outrageous moment came on the second ball of the 20th over when Dhoni launched a direct-hit on the non-striker’s end from his wicket-keeping position.
Dhoni picked the ball behind the stumps and his underarm throw crashed into the stumps to dismiss Abdul Samad.
The veteran wicketkeeper had a brilliant day while keeping the stumps as not only did he perform the amazing run-out, he also performed a stumping and took the all-important catch of LSG skipper Rishabh Pant.
Earlier, a hard-fought fifty from Pant carried LSG to a fighting total of 166/7 in 20 overs. After managing just 40 runs in the first five matches, Pant finally came good, scoring 63 in 49 balls, with four boundaries and sixes each.
For CSK, Ravindra Jadeja was the pick of the bowlers finishing his 3-over spell with figures of 2/24. Seamer Matheesha Pathirana also chipped in with 2 wickets, but ended up giving away 45 runs in his quota of 4 overs.
