Mumbai Indians have found their rhythm in the ongoing IPL 2025 season. After a shaky start losing four of their first five matches, the five-time IPL champions have bounced back impressively with four consecutive wins.
Sitting with 10 points from nine games, MI are gearing up for a crucial clash against Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. In their previous meeting this season, LSG had edged past MI with a 12-run victory.
Ahead of their upcoming clash against Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians star opener Rohit Sharma gave fans a funny moment at the nets. During a practice session, Rohit was spotted sitting with LSG mentor Zaheer Khan when pacer Shardul Thakur walked in. Wasting no time, Rohit teased Shardul for showing up late to practice, leaving everyone around in splits.
In a video poted by Mumbai Indians on X, Rohit was heard saying, “Kya re hero, abhi aa raha hai, ghar ka team hai kya?”
Mumbai Indians will head into this clash after their victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Chasing a modest target of 144, set up by Heinrich Klaasen’s 71 off 44 balls and his crucial 99-run partnership with Abhinav Manohar (43 off 37), Rohit Sharma smashed 70 runs off just 46 deliveries, helping Mumbai Indians secure a victory in just 15.4 overs and ending the home team’s hopes quickly.
Earlier, MI’s bowlers put on a strong show, with Deepak Chahar (2/12) and Trent Boult (4/26) tearing through Sunrisers Hyderabad’s top order. SRH were at 13 for 4 in five overs before Heinrich Klaasen steadied the innings slightly with a fighting half-century.
