Delhi Daredevils coach Greg Shipperd hoped that his team would come up with its best performance against the Deccan Chargers win the match on Thursday.

“The wicket is nice and we look to produce our best cricket and win,” said shipperd. Asked about the crucial game between the two teams, who are both languishing at the bottom of the points table, Shipperd said, “Every game is crucial, particularly, to keep our dreams of making it to the top four alive. It is important for both teams to come and play their best cricket and register a win.”

Shipperd said the management would decide on the team composition keeping in mind the strengths and weaknesses of the rival team.

“We will pay attention to every set of new conditions that are presented. On some occasions, if the opposition is very good, we will move on and work harder to improve our performance,” he said.

When asked about the team’s over dependence on openers Virender Sehwag and David Warner, Shipperd said Sehwag is a very competent player but every player in the side has been given a responsibility.

“Every person in the side has a responsibility to do his job well,” he said. Defending out-of-form Irfan Pathan, Shipperd said, “He has been solid contributor. His bowling has been very steady and sound. Irfan has come in last overs at times and it is difficult for any batsmen to score big against him.”
