The BCCI Disciplinary Committee, probing the alleged financial irregularities committed by sacked IPL chief Lalit Modi in running the T20 league, will arrive at a decision after following “due process”, its member Jyotiraditya Scindia said on Tuesday.
The three-member panel, of which the other two members are Chirayu Amin and Arun Jaitely, has been seized of the matter for more than one year but Scindia said he cannot predict an exact timeframe when the inquiry will be over.
“It is important to follow due process. We are going to look into every aspect of inquiry. We are going to submit (to the BCCI) a complete report after looking every aspect,” he said in an interaction with PTI journalists.
“We are examining witnesses. I cannot give a timeframe.”
On whether Modi could be examined personally or via video or teleconference, Scindia, also Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, said, “I cannot say it now, it depends on examination of witnesses and what happens in the case.”
Modi has been charged with various irregularities in running the IPL and was suspended from all posts in the BCCI on April 26 last year.
The BCCI Disciplinary Committee has had several hearing since July last year.
