Everyone has exhausted their vocabulary tonight. Describing tonight’s game between West Indies and England must have brought writer’s block to everyone. When West Indies needed 19 off the last over, none of us gave West Indies a chance; in fact, we wrote them off. Indeed, we have seen edge-of-the-seat thrillers, nail-biting finishes and unbelievable cliffhangers. However, what we saw tonight will stay etched in our memory forever. Barring English fans, most of the cricket fans on Twitter wanted the rampaging West Indians to win ICC World T20 2016. Here are some tweets from the cricketing fraternity who showered heaps of praises on the World T20 champions:
Congratulations @westindies Team. Unbelievable

‘Do you have any sympathy for the bowlers?’ Curtly Ambrose was asked. ‘Well yes, yes,’ he said, ‘but on this occasion, no!’

West Indies have emerged triumphant in U-19 World 2016, Women’s World T20 2016 and Men’s World T20 2016. Given the kind of shape West Indies cricket has been for over the years, this victory will change the dynamics of West Indies cricket. However, Darren Sammy becomes the 4th captain to lift 2 World Cup; first being Clive Lyod in 1975 and 1979, second being Ricky Ponting in 2003 and 2007 and third being MS Dhoni in WT20 2007 and 2011.
Marlon Samuels was hero of yet another chase. In 2012, when West Indies won their maiden WT20, Samuels plundered 56-ball 78 and was awarded Man of the Match. Today, against in-form England, he emulated his heroics and played match-winning innings of 66-ball 85. But the best was yet to witness. Brathwaite smashed four consecutive 6s when they needed 19 off the last over. Such was the brilliance of West Indies in one of the best World Cup final!
