Chasing victory in the third and final Test against West Indies in St Lucia, England have been put in further trouble by news that Ben Stokes may not be available.

Stokes is a doubt for the match after missing training on Thursday due to bruising on his right heel, and with Chris Woakes a doubtful starter as he manages a longstanding knee complaint, England could be without two vital seam-bowling allrounders.

The wicketkeeper Ben Foakes, who was hit on the hand by a Shannon Gabriel delivery during the second Test and was unable to keep wicket in England’s second innings, has not been passed fit yet. (READ MORE: Minus Jason Holder, can West Indies achieve rare whitewash of England?)

Woakes, Mark Wood and Jack Leach are the only members of England’s squad not to get a game on tour. The track at the Darren Sammy National Stadium in St Lucia is expected to aid pace, so if Stokes and Woakes are out then the visitors would need to go to chWood.
