Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 14 years and 23 days old, becomes the youngest player to make his IPL debut for Rajasthan Royals, against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Saturday, as LSG won the toss and elected to bat first in match no. 36 of the ongoing IPL

Riyan Parag is the captain of Rajasthan Royals after regular skipper Sanju Samson was ruled out due to abdominal pain sustained during the match against Delhi Capitals, where he had to retire hurt after scoring 31 off 19 balls.

Born in 2011, Suryavanshi made history by becoming the first IPL player born after the tournament’s inception in 2008. He was purchased by the Rajasthan Royals for Rs 1.1 crore during the mega auction at Jeddah.

Here’s the corrected version:

He is not only the youngest player to be part of the Ranji team but also has a 58-ball century to his name, scored in a four-day game for India Under-19 against Australia Under-19 in Chennai.

He also smashed 176 runs at an average of 44 during the final match in under-19 Asia Cup. Although Suryavanshi is on RR’s ‘Impact Substitutes’ list, he is likely to be brought in when their batting innings begins, as Parag mentioned the change in the playing eleven during the toss.

“We were looking to bowl, it is a little bit warm under lights, should be better than the last time. It’s been kinda tricky, we’ve been doing small bits right, but we haven’t been able to put a collective performance together, we’ve been having honest chats as a team. We love playing here, we know the conditions well, hope we can put that to good use,” said Parag.
