# Ravi Rampaul posted his first duck against India – his fourth in Tests.

 

# Marlon Samuels’ unbeaten 78 off 172 balls is his highest innings at Bridgetown, Barbados.

 

# Samuels, for the sixth time in Tests, has recorded 75-plus in an innings.

 

# Thanks to his innings, Samuels is now averaging 30-plus in Tests – 1549 in 31 Tests at an average of 30.37, including two centuries and eleven fifties.

 

# Ishant Sharma is the first Indian bowler to bag 6 wickets in a Test innings at Bridgetown, obliterating Dattu Phadkar’s 5 for 64 in 1952-53. Abey Kuruvilla and Venkatesh Prasad had also taken five wickets in an innings at Bridgetown

 

# Sharma’s 6 for 55 is his career-best in Tests – his second instance of five-wickets in an innings. His previous best figures in a Test innings was 5 for 118 against Pakistan at Bangalore in 2007-08.

 

# Sharma’s figures are the second best by an Indian bowler in the West Indies. Subhash Gupte had claimed 7 for 162 at Port of Spain in January 1953.

 

# Sharma has become the fifth youngest bowler to complete 100 Test wickets.

 

# West Indies (190) posted their second completed lowest innings total against India at Bridgetown – the lowest is 140 in March 1997.

 

# Mahendra Singh Dhoni (100 in 29 Tests) is the first wicketkeeper to complete 100 dismissals for India on foreign soil – 88 catches + 12 stumpings.

 

# Samuels’ averages 59.20 against India while totalling 296 in six innings.

 

# Samuels’ 78 not out is his second half-century against India and his 11th in Tests.

 

# Sharma became the 17th Indian bowler to complete 100 wickets or more in Tests.
