The 2025 Champions Trophy match between Australia and South Africa is on the verge of being washed out, as the toss has been delayed at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. As no play was possible till one and half hour of the scheduled start time, the match is not going to be a complete 50-over match anymore.

Both the teams began their campaign with victories, and had a chance to reach the semifinal. The winners of today’s match will have their place in the semifinal. However, if the match gets washed out, both the teams will be exposed ahead of the final group-stage match.
For those who do not know, South Africa beat Afghanistan by 107 runs in Karachi. On the other hand, Australia beat arch-rivals England by 5 wickets.

Scenario of a washout:
If the match gets washed out, both the teams will get a point each. There is no reserve day saved for any group stage match. Hence, in order to make sure play is possible, all sorts of adjustments will be made. Both teams need to bat for a minimum of 20 overs in order to come up with a result.
