The New Zealand Women offspinner Leigh Kasperek has become the fastest female cricketer to the landmark of 50 T20I wickets, achieving the landmark in the White Ferns’ 33-run loss to Australia Women in the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 at Guyana’s Providence Stadium.

She needed 29 innings, one fewer than West Indies’ Anisa Mohammed.

Kasperek, 26, finished with 3/25 in her four overs as Australia made 153/7, a total which New Zealand fell well short of as their hopes of making the semi-finals were dashed.
