Wriddhiman Saha was dismissed for 27 off 23 during Kings XI Punjab’s Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Mohali on Sunday. Moises Henriques drew second blood for Hyderabad when he removed the wicketkeeper-batsman on the first delivery of the 12th over. Saha played a pull which was caught by Deepak Hooda. The latter made no mistake while running from deep mid-wicket and completed a successful catch to leave Punjab at 87 for 2 in 11.1 overs. Punjab skipper Murali Vijay was the first batsman to walk back to the dugout after he was dismissed by Mustafizur Rahman in the 5th over. Vijay became Rahman’s 50th wicket in Twenty20 (T20) format. Meanwhile it was Rahman’s 14th scalp in this ninth edition of IPL as the Bangladeshi bowler stands third on the most-wickets table of IPL 2016. The likes of Mitchell McClenaghan and Andre Russell are ahead of him with 17 and 15 wickets each so far in IPL 2016.
After 14 overs, Hashim Amla and Gurkeerat Singh were at the crease with 64 and 14 runs respectively. Gurkeerat has not played upto his potential so far in this IPL with scores of 0 and 11 in the three matches he has played so far in IPL.
Earlier, Punjab won the toss and elected to bat first. Bhuvneshwar Kumar opened the bowling for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He bowled a tight first over giving just seven runs. Ashish Nehra, who bowled next was expensive in his first over. Hashim Amla hit three boundaries in that over, and took his tally to four fours as he had hit one in the first over as well.
