Hello, good evening and welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket blog and updates’ post of the sixth match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017, between Sunrisers Hyderbad (SRH) and Gujarat Lions (SRH). This IPL 10 match will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Thankfully for all fans there will be no opening ceremony for this match (second match at the stadium), that means everyone in the stadium and people watching on TV will feel relieved. Hyderabad would be confident heading into this game, while Lions would be shattered after an embarrassing loss in their last game by 10-wickets. Live Cricket Scorecard, Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Gujarat Lions – Match 6, IPL 2017
Hyderabad would be happier of two sides heading into the tie after routing Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the opening game of IPL 10. Sunrisers’ middle order looked in top notch form with Moises Henriques, Yuvraj Singh and Ben Cutting scoring quite a handful. Opener Shikhar Dhawan too scored crucial runs at the top. Their bowling, much like last season, looks potent. With Ashish Nehra back in form and Mustafizur Rahman available for selection, opponents would be surely jotting down some serious plans. Rashid Khan in the last match displayed his skills to the tee, making him a worthy contender in the playing XI for long.
Gujarat, meanwhile have some serious pondering to do about their batting and bowling. Bowling, in particular, was such a letdown for them against KKR. Dhawal Kulkarni, Manpreet Gony, Shivil Kaushik and Dwayne Smith were cantered for runs all around the park. Kaushik disappointed the most going for 40 in his 4 overs. Without Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo in the mix, Lions’ bowling seems unheeded. Gujarat’s batting on the other hand showed sparks of brilliance with Brendon McCullum, Suresh Raina and Dinesh Karthik looking in good form. They would want more from Jason Roy and Aaron Finch with hardly any domestic talent in the middle order to fire for them.
