Australian spinner Xavier Doherty has vowed to make a return to the national side, after being left out of that squad for the triangular series in Zimbabwe. He has been replaced by Nathan Lyon.
Douherty, though has refused to accept defeat, and promised to make a return. “It was a little disappointing but probably not a huge surprise. I think I did pretty well last year but some of the feedback I got was they would look at some other options. I think I have given them the chance to do that. If I had of bowled as well as I possibly could have last summer then I don’t give them that option. I left the door open, more my doing than their selection policy I guess. If I’m bowling at my very best I feel I am Australia’s best option and last summer I didn’t quite do that. I’m pretty confident I can get back there.”, the spinner told News Limited.
