Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah added a feather to his cap when he took his 50th wicket during the second day of the second Test against Sri Lanka at the P Sara Oval in Colombo on Friday, recording the best strike-rate for a bowler with a minimum of 50 Test wickets since the Second World War, with Stuart MacGill second on the list. Shah finished with a haul of 6 for 96 during Sri Lanka’s first innings, helping dismiss the hosts for a score of 315, with the dismissal of Angelo Mathews being his 50th Test scalp. The eight-Test-old spinner, who hails from the North-West Frontier Province, recorded figures of 7 for 76 during Sri Lanka’s second innings in the first Test, setting up a crushing 10-wicket victory for Pakistan that helped them take a 1-0 lead in the series.
