Younis Khan is in form of his life, and has been touching new heights regularly in recent times. Bharath Seervi lists some of the records and milestones he has achieved.

Younis Khan has had a great run in the ongoing Test series against Australia. He has scored centuries in each of the three innings Pakistan has batted in. He scored 106 and 103 not out in first Test at Dubai, and brought up another century, his 27th, in the first inning of the second match. In the process, he became only the fourth Pakistan batsman to score centuries in three consecutive Test innings, and only the second player after Herbert Sutcliffe (in 1924-25) to score centuries in three consecutive Test innings against Australia.

Centuries in Three consecutive Test innings against Australia

It took about 90 years for someone to score three centuries in three consecutive Test innings against Australia. Sutcliffe of England scored 115, 176 and 127 in the Ashes of 1924-25. Since then, only Younis has managed the feat.

Batsman Team Inning 1 Inning 2 Inning 3
Herbert Sutcliffe England 115, Sydney, 1924 176, Melbourne, 1926 127, Melbourne, 1925

Pakistan batsmen scoring centuries in both innings of a Test match

In the first match of this series, Younis scored centuries in both innings. He scored 106 in the first inning to equal Inzamam-ul-Haq’s record of 25 Test centuries for Pakistan. In the second innings he scored an unbeaten 103 to become Pakistan’s most prolific century-maker in Test cricket. He became the seventh Pakistan batsman to score centuries in both innings of a Test, feat which was first achieved by Hanif Mohammad in 1962 against England.
