Delhi Capitals started off their IPL 2025 season with a bang, but they have lost momentum after a disappointing batting performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Although the match was washed out due to rain and didn’t allow the SRH batters to begin the chase, DC managed to post a total of 133 runs in their 20 overs. Asked to bat first, Delhi’s batting collapsed in front of SRH’s bowling attack, with half of the DC batters back in the dugout at just 29 runs.

DC reached a total of 133 thanks to an impressive knock from Tristan Stubbs, who scored 41 off 36 deliveries, and Ashutosh Sharma, who smashed 44 off just 26 balls. The duo shared a 66-run partnership and helped the team post a fighting total

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra brutally pointed fingers on DC batter following their batting collapse. “Your batting is not firing. You lost faith in Jake Fraser-McGurk. Faf du Plessis has hardly played one or two knocks. Karun Nair has played one knock. Abishek Porel has played two-and-a-half knocks.” Chopra said on his YouTube channel

“KL Rahul has played a few knocks. However, he has gone off the boil. After that, Ashutosh Sharma, Vipraj Nigam, Tristan Stubbs and Axar Patel. You weren’t supposed to play a punt on them,” Chopra said

DC has lost three consecutive matches, the last of which was abondoned due to rain. Despite the fact that DC played in a disappointing way, they managed to get one points as the math was washed out due to rain.

Chopra also questioned DC for not picking Harry Brook’s replacement,”Where is your replacement for Brook? They haven’t taken one, and won’t get it as well if they don’t take it in the next two days. That story has ended for them,” he concluded
