Yuvraj Singh became the fourth Indian after Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma to score 1,000 runs in Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Yuvraj, who has historically been one of India’s best T20I batsmen, made his comeback to the Indian cricket team earlier this year when India toured Australia. Yuvraj had last played an international match in the ICC World T20 2014 final between India and Sri Lanka. His innings in that match, 11 off 21 balls, was widely criticised as being the reason India lost the final. His comeback has been largely successful but not outstanding. Since that fateful final, Yuvraj has worked hard to make it back to the Indian side by scoring runs in Indian Premier League (IPL) as well as domestic cricket for Punjab. Yuvraj played a massive role in India’s ICC World T20 2007 title triumph, hammering six sixes in a Stuart Broad over when India played against England en route to a 12-ball 50, and following it up with a 30-ball 70 against Australia in the semi-final of the tournament. After that he was named Man of the Tournament in India’s triumphant ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 campaign. Live Cricket Blog: India vs Bangladesh, Asia Cup T20 2016, Match 1 at Dhaka

Yuvraj joins the ranks of Raina, Kohli, and Rohit in the list of Indian batsmen who have breached the 1,000-run mark in T20Is. Yuvraj is currently fouth on the list of T20I run-scorers for India, after Kohli, Raina, and Rohit in that order. Yuvraj mostly bats at No. 4 for India, but lately has been pushed down to the No. 5 slot. Yuvraj got to the landmark in the opening match of Asia Cup T20 2016, against Bangladesh.
