Yuvraj said that his desire to play for India helped him recover from cancer.

Yuvraj Singh appeared on the October 5 episode of Satyamev Jayate and tried to inspire the youth of Punjab to give up intoxication and drugs, and move towards sports.

He said that Punjab has given a lot of sportsmen to the country, and the youth should be inspired from that. He joked that youngsters should give up drugs and consume milk, lassi, curd and aloo ka paratha instead.

Yuvraj also said that sports helped him recover from cancer. He said that when he was sick, he used his desire to play for the country, as his motivation to beat the disease.

Yuvraj Singh is currently not a part of the Indian squad, but has achieved many laurels in his career. He was the man of the series in the ICC World Cup 2011, and played a critical role in helping India lift the trophy.
