Yuvraj Singh tweets for Alonso from Bahrain Grand Prix

Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who is in Bahrain attending the Grand Prix, tweeted picture of his and VJ Ranvijay showing his support for his favourite F1 driver Ferrari s Fernando Alonso.

Yuvraj is a special guest of a leading Bahrain-based businessman and a keen cricket fan, Mohammed Dadabhai and his family.

“We are honoured to have Yuvraj as our guest during the Formula One Grand Prix. It will be a great moment for both Bahrain where the race will be held and India from where Yuvraj will be coming from,” said a Dadabhai family member.

The Bahrain Grand Prix is being organized admits huge protests.

Demonstrators gathered late Friday afternoon in the Budaya area four kilometres west of Manama chanting ‘Down with the dictatorship!’ and ‘Revolt until victory!’ witnesses said. The Bahrain event was cancelled last year in the wake of an uprising and the government crackdown that followed in which a government commission said 35 people were killed.
