Zimbabwe have announced their 15-man squad for the upcoming One-Day International (ODI) tri-series featuring West Indies and Sri Lanka as well. Carl Mumba and Tarisai Musakanda are the two new faces in the ODI set up, but Vusi Sibanda has been dropped. The other key names returning for Zimbabwe include Brian Chari, Tinashe Panyangara and Chris Mpofu. Panyangara was selected into the side after he recovered from a back injury that kept him out of the ODI series against India and the two-Test series against New Zealand, both at home. Chari scored 80 against Sri Lanka in the second Test and has played a total of five Tests and four ODIs. Full Cricket Scorecard: Zimbabwe vs Sri Lanka, tri-nation series, 1st ODI at Harare
Mumba made his international debut in the Test series against Sri Lanka and picked up eight wickets in two Tests. Musakanda has not played any international cricket, but has done well for Zimbabwe A recently. But Sibanda has been dropped after scoring just one fifty in the ODI series against India and did not do particularly well for Zimbabwe A against Pakistan A. Peter Moor will continue as the wicketkeeper for Zimbabwe as Richard Mutumbami too has faced the axe. Tendai Chatara, Neville Madziva, Timycen Maruma, Wellington Masakadza, Tawanda Mupariwa and Taurai Muzarabani are the players, who have been dropped from the squad from their India tour.
The tri-series begins on November 14, with the first match scheduled to be played between Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka on November 14 at Harare. The final of the tri-series will be played on November 27.
