As India put Zimbabwe to chase 139 in the third Twenty20 International (T20I) at Harare, the hosts start off decently scoring 74 for 3 wickets. Though Chamu Chibhabha was the first wicket to fall early, Zimbabwe got themselves back on track with Hamilton Masakadza and Vusi Sibanda’s partnership. Chibhabha got out while pulling one on the leg-side and handing a catch to Yuzvendra Chahal as Barinder Sran took the wicket. Hamilton Masakadza then along with Vusi Sibanda put on a 40-run partnership to steer the innings forward. Sibanda was looking in fine touch as he found boundaries quite often. Masakadza was the 2nd wicket to fall for Zimbabwe off an Akshar Patel delivery. At the end of over 14, Zimbabwe’s score is 88 for 4 wickets. Dhawal Kulkarni then picked up the wicket of Sibanda as he went for 28 off 23. Zimbabwe after a good start were under some pressure at this moment. Earlier, Tendai Chatara, Donald Tiripano and Neville Madziva put in a brilliant bowling performance for the hosts, on a pitch that looks difficult to bat on. They removed the pace of the ball well. Kedar Jadhav was the top scorer for India as he scored 58 off 42 balls. He hit 7 fours and 1 huge six in his innings. Zimbabwe restricted India to 138-6 after Akshar Patel managed 16 runs from the last over of the innings.
Zimbabwe captain Graeme Cremer, won the toss and chose to bowl first. India did not make any changes to the squad that they played in the last T20 match. The 3-match T20 series is currently level at 1-1. India are looking to seal this series and add to the 3-0 ODI series win.
