Zimbabwe were struggling at 47 for three at tea on the second day of the second and final Test against Bangladesh at the Harare Sports Club on Friday.
The hosts lost their openers Regis Chakabva and Vusi Sibanda early on, and then lost Hamilton Masakadza before tea in the second session to give the tourists an upperhand.
Captain Brendon Taylor was batting on six, accompanied by Malcolm Waller, who was yet to open his account.
Zimbabwe trail by a further 344 runs in the first innings.
Earlier at lunch, Bangladesh have been bowled out for 391 in the first innings.
The Asian tigers batted for almost four sessions. Shakib-Al-Hasan (81) ,Nasir Hossain (77) and Mushfiqur Rahim (60) were the top performers.
For Zimbabwe, Elton Chigumbura picked up three wickets while Keegan Meth and Graeme Cremer picked up two wickets each.
Bangladesh lost the first Test match at Harare by 335 runs.
